The short version

Tallytopia is built to need as little of your data as possible: no account, no cookies, no ad trackers. Calculations happen in your browser, preferences stay in your browser, and the only text that ever reaches our servers is a question you choose to type into the question bar.

Calculations

Calculations run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into a calculator are not sent to our servers, are not stored by us, and are not included in analytics.

Preferences

Your display choices (currency, metric or imperial units) are saved in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The question bar

If you use the question bar, the text of your question is sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's API to identify the right calculator and pre-fill values. Questions are not linked to your identity, are not stored by us, and are not used for any other purpose. Don't include personal information in a question — it isn't needed.

Cookies and analytics

Tallytopia uses self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami) to count page views and see which calculators are used. It sets no cookies, stores no personal data, and does not track you across other sites; the aggregated data never leaves our own server. Beyond that, Tallytopia runs no third-party analytics. If this changes (for example, if we introduce advertising), this policy will be updated first.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure (a server operated by us at Hetzner, an EU hosting provider) keeps short-lived standard access logs — IP address, requested page, timestamp — used only for security and troubleshooting.

Third parties

• Hetzner — hosts the site and our analytics; standard server logs.
• Anthropic — processes question-bar text to route it to a calculator, under their own privacy terms.

We do not sell or share data with anyone else. There is no one else.

Children

The site collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and offers no accounts or messaging.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, contact the site operator (see below) and we will help.
